Mbodj

The bulk of this new body of work is derived from a visit to Senegal, West Africa, visiting my sister who was a volunteer in the Peace Corps. 

The experience of traveling through the country, canoeing through the mangroves and staying in her rural host village had a profound effect and left me thoughtful about the differences and similarities between our two cultures. The people, sights, sounds, textures and smells directly and indirectly informed these works.
