This new body of work was created through a combination of experimentation, formal process and intuitive design.

When I heard about this opportunity to have unfettered access to the waste transfer station I became excited to experiment with making art differently than I had done before. I wanted to craft these materials into fine objects that were beautiful to look at, preserved the patina left by their previous lives and conceptually spoke to the process of managing waste.

My goal was to create works intriguing enough to give the viewer pause to look closely at the work and create the opportunity for conversations about the larger issues of consumption.
